Case Study: Batch process control system

Case study: Batch process control system
Client: Multi-national food manufacturer
Project: Batch process control system

Contract Scope:

As part of a factory relocation project, new process plant and a new process-control system were required for the production of a leading range of cereal bars.

The system was based around Rockwell PLC and drives components, combined with GE Fanuc Cimplicity Scada and HMI nodes.

The new system implemented an S88 batch structure within the PLC to give commonality with other plants on the same site, with benefits including ease of modification, fault-finding and operator familiarity.

Exhaustive FAT testing with client representatives enabled all of the operations to be tested and optimised before reaching the client’s site.
