Case Study: CLD robotics flexi-lab

Case study: CLD robotics flexi-lab
Client: Pharmaceutical
Project: CLD robotics flexi-lab

Contract Scope:

The new laboratory was created as a new robotics suite, an amalgamation of two existing laboratories into one larger area.

The main building and adjacent laboratories remained fully operational whilst the project was ongoing, with all shutdowns and isolations carefully planned to ensure minimal impact to ongoing studies.

The existing space was stripped back to the base shell and the internal walls, ceilings and concrete void were demolished to create the new larger space. New windows, GRP doors, vinyl floor and wall-coatings were applied.

A new ventilation system was installed, including a new AHU complete with extractor unit serving the lab through a ventilated ceiling. Extraction was provided via perforated ceiling grilles.

The existing laboratory services, previously stripped backed, were modified and re-installed using flexi-lab principles.

Laboratory gases and electrical services were installed on a dry services spine within a newly formed ceiling space, with process cold water, hot and cold water provided on a wet services spine.

All services were installed to provide for future expansion and flexibility.
