Our Corporate Responsibility
The Boulting Group defines our corporate responsibility as action which positively impacts on our stakeholders — our customers, our shareholders, our people, our suppliers, the communities around our businesses, and the general public. They include and exceed our legal or regulatory obligations.
We believe that a positive record as a conscientious, responsible and ethical employer with integrity will enhance both our business performance and our reputation, and will help us to attract the kind of customers and colleagues we want to work with.
Each Boulting Group business is committed to corporate responsibility in order to enhance the value of their operations and that of the group as a whole.
Executive responsibility
An executive director is responsible for advising the main board on corporate responsibility matters. We are committed to reporting on our corporate responsibility policies and actions annually, which enables others to judge our performance. In shaping our particular approach to corporate responsibility, we engage with business and non-business interest groups to ensure that we fully understand their expectations of us and to ensure that our policies and action address relevant issues.
What we do
The following areas are addressed as part of the Boulting Group’s corporate responsibility policy:
We promote health & safety in the workplace
We do this amongst our employees and sub-contractors through our corporate policy, OHSAS 18001 certification, regular training, accident targets and monitoring, and competency reviews. By actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, our suppliers, the local community and people living or working adjacent to workplaces and sites can be assured of a safe environment.
We promote environmental awareness and responsibility
We do this by encouraging care for the environment amongst our employees, sub-contractors and suppliers by means of our corporate policy, ISO 14001 certification, regular training, and dialogue. This will provide increasingly efficient use of resources and recycling which will in turn provide benefits for the environment and the community.
We promote ethical business practice
We do this through actively addressing our legal obligations and anti-corruption practices amongst our employees, sub-contractors and suppliers by means of our corporate policy, regular training, our code of practice and dialogue.
We promote personal development
We do this amongst our employees by means of our Investors in People accreditation, personal development plans, annual reviews and open dialogue. In developing our employees, we help them to have a positive impact our customers and suppliers, and they are more able to contribute to the wider community.
