16/9/2010
Boulting Group Ltd has successfully achieved OHSAS 18001 certification, an internationally recognised assessment that promotes a safe and healthy working environment by providing a framework for identifying and controlling health and safety risks. The standard was awarded by certifying body LRQA and provides a framework that is designed to reduce the potential for accidents, aid legislative compliance and improve overall performance.
This is a great achievement for Boulting Group and further demonstrates a commitment to increasing health and safety awareness and to the welfare of its employees and clients by providing a safer working environment. QMS Manager for Boulting Group, Steve Armstrong, commented: "Operating to OHSAS 18001 standards provides us [Boulting Group] with an international benchmark upon which we can measure and continuously improve our health and safety performance... attaining this standard reaffirms the commitment and importance Boulting Group places upon cultivating a safer working environment for all parties, office based and on site".
Julian Massey, LRQA Assessment Manager added:
"This is another step in Boulting Group's commitment to a comprehensive approach to managing risk. Many parts of Boulting Group are already certified to ISO9001, ISO14001 and now OHSAS18001, with further work continuing. Certification is not easy, but it demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, controlling and reducing risk, be it quality, environmental or occupational health and safety".
