Boulting Group receives AWE Safety Award

4/1/2010

Boulting Group has been recognised by AWE for its contribution to the achievement of 1,000,000 Man Hours without a Lost Time Accident, between May 2007 and October 2009 whilst working on the Re-Kits Portfolio of Projects.

Work carried out included the installation of a high temperature furnace and associated electrical and mechanical systems, a major electrical upgrade of one of the buildings and the refurbishment of the ventilation system.

This great mile stone was attained as a result of good communications between the workforce and best practice training in health and safety procedures. We are proud to say that month after month we are praised for our high standards with regards to quality and safety as well as the attitude of our operatives.

Feedback from the most recent AWE leadership audit included:

"....it was observed that the areas were maintained to a good standard regarding housekeeping, areas were suitably cordoned off from the facility, all operatives (Boulting's) were compliant with the PPE requirements. There were some good controls in place for the isolation of the overhead crane. Visible glove policy on site, with a glove board/wallet posted detailing the different types. Good SSoW organisation, with separate folders. The Working at Height selection calculator is a good idea, and should be utilised when selecting equipment and preparing SSoW.

The Boulting operatives, when questioned, were open and honest."

Boulting group has worked on site at Aldermaston for approx 3½ years. Our main work to date has been building refurbishment and security systems which has included the full range of the group services.
