Janice Hornby, IT Applications Support joined Boulting in 1989 as an Office Administrator based at Head Office in Warrington. Janice now provides support & training on various IT applications across the business.
After finishing school in 1989 at Penketh High School, I immediately joined Boulting.
My activities can vary considerably day to day - from providing in-house IT training for colleagues, to setting up new database systems.
I started my career as an Office Administrator, working in the Purchasing Department. I then progressed to becoming a Buyer. However, my career has taken a different turn altogether and I now provide IT applications support.
I have attended various training courses during my time here, from Fire Warden training to learning various different IT packages: including various Microsoft Office applications to estimating packages, payroll, accounting and HR suites. Boulting has created the ethos that as the company develops so do the employees' skill set, which has definitely been reflected in my experience at the company.
Despite the company expanding substantially since I joined, there is still a real sense of community and family values.
