Boulting Environmental Services specialise in delivering a complete turnkey service for the design and build of clean, aseptic and sterile facilities.
Over the last twelve months the BES team have been involved with the successful and safe delivery of several multi-disciplined projects.
Here we take a look at two of the most recent projects that have been completed and the challenges faced by the BES team along the way.
Pharmaceutical Development Laboratory
This project involved a complete service for the design, installation and commissioning of HVAC services for a £2.4 million Laboratory Upgrade.
Scope of works included the refurbishment of three existing laboratories along with associated write up areas, circulation spaces and the introduction of a new break out coffee area.
New air handling units, pumps and chillers were installed within the existing plant space. This resulted in plant movement and logistical challenges, which were overcome through careful coordination and planning.
In addition, the project team also installed new water and medical gasses throughout and all new systems were commissioned and set to work on programme and within budget.
Fast Track Tablet Process Area Refurbishment
This was a fast track project involving a series of substantial modifications to a number of existing pharmaceutical process areas.
Scope of works included, creating new cGMP ISO7 cleanrooms, introduction of new safe change HEPAs and modification to existing process areas to accommodate new equipment.
The total project value was £1.85 million, including client's equipment, and was completed during a challenging shut down phase of the client's facilities.
All works, including re-validation of the entire manufacturing area to the client's satisfaction, were completed and the area was back online - with product being manufactured - within an eight week period
