In order to meet with industrial requirements and market trends Boulting has achieved steelwork manufacturing CE certification to BS EN 1090-1 Executionable Class 3.
The CE mark reassures designers that materials are compliant with the manufacturing standards and the relevant Euro-Codes. In addition, CE marking gives businesses easier access for European markets, to provide products without adaptation or rechecking, making trade easier and cheaper between the EU countries.
A manufacturing company can only become certified by a notified body to assess all systems and Boulting engaged The Welding Institute Ltd (TWI), the world-renown centre for metals joining.
Once the following systems were in place rigorous audits were undertaken by the TWI.
In addition, Boulting have a ‘Responsible Welding Coordinator' in accordance with standard BS EN ISO 3834, to control the welding quality management system.
Displaying the CE Mark
The CE Mark can only be displayed on the Declaration of Performance Certificate, once a thorough audit and inspection of the manufacturing and testing routes has taken place. In addition, complete compliance with all the requirements, of a relevant manufacturing standard, needs to be proved.
The Declaration of performance confirming that the product is CE marked has the Approval Certificate Number of the manufacturer; in order to provide traceability for customers. This method, combats fraudulent claims of compliance with the directive by less reputable suppliers.
CE Marking and Boulting
By displaying CE marking, Boulting guarantees that products conform to the performance values declared, as well as satisfy all mandatory EU legislative requirements. Boulting's investment in CE marking recognises the quality provided to our customers and assists in building long lasting relationships.
