More than 150 guests, consisting of employees from across Boulting’s numerous sites, enjoyed a taste of summer with an evening filled with dining, dancing and fundraising at the Principal Hotel, Manchester.
On the night, organisers held a prize draw, which combined with Boulting’s recent summer raffle, saw £7,440 raised for The Christie. Based in Manchester, The Christie is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 44,000 patients a year. The money raised will help fund the important work and support the facilities provided for cancer patients and their families.
Located in Warrington, with additional sites across the country, Boulting is a multi-disciplined engineering solutions provider, operating in a diverse range of industry sectors in the UK and internationally.
“The summer ball was the first of many annual events that Boulting is looking to host,” said Ian Humphries, Managing Director at Boulting. “The event was a great success and the team behind it should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
“Family and community are core values for us at Boulting and I’m overjoyed to see people give so generously to The Christie.”
“On behalf of the charity, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone from Boulting for getting behind The Christie and helping to raise such a fantastic amount at their inaugural ball,” added Danielle Carney, corporate fundraising manager for The Christie charity.
“We really can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity on the evening and those behind the scenes who worked hard to pull the event together!’
The guests of honour for the evening were former Managing Director, Mike Groarke and his wife, Margaret. Their son and Group Managing Director, Josh, thanked Mike for his commitment to both the company and its people over the past 32 years, saying, “With the help of the people in this room and many more that couldn’t be here tonight, you can be proud of what you have helped Boulting achieve.”
The evening’s entertainment was provided by local covers band, The Inner Light, featuring Boulting Environmental Services’, Matt Ryan.
