Each year the 900 Employees of Boulting Ltd collectively select a charity to focus their fund raising efforts. With the Multi-disciplinary engineering solutions providers’ headquarters and manufacturing facilities in the North West, there is a strong affiliation for local charities.
This year Boulting employees have selected The Bloom Appeal. The Bloom Appeal strives to make a difference for blood cancer patients in the Merseyside and surrounding areas. Founded in 2014 by healthcare professionals, scientists, patients & carers, the charity is dedicated to helping patients through treatments as well as investing in facilities and research.
Most recently, The Bloom Appeal, in partnership with Clatterbridge Cancer Centre & Charity has a joint goal of raising £100,000 and establishing the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Centre in the new Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital in the city centre.
“This year our aim is to raise £50,000 towards a space dedicated for youngsters to receive their cancer treatment. The new facility will provide access and facilities to the services they need and with space to chill out and socialise with people their own age” commented Alix Bee of the The Bloom Appeal. “Ensuring young people can engage with their peer group at this time is even more important. Without specialist suites such as these, teenage patients can feel isolated even when surrounded by other patients, who are usually of a much older generation”
Boulting employees hope to have lots of fun raising money over the next 12 months, with a range of fundraising events throughout their organisation.“Our staff will be challenging themselves to raise funds in a variety of ways, ranging from bake sales to sporting events. With many of our staff with families of their own living in the North West, making a difference in our local community is important to all of us.” commented Josh Groarke, Managing Director.
